FBLA Advantage ("the App") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information.
Information We Collect
Account Information:
- Email address, display name, username, school, and FBLA role
- Profile picture and cover image
- Graduation year and chapter membership
Usage Data:
- Practice test scores, answers, and performance analytics
- Points earned, streaks, and leaderboard rankings
- AI chatbot usage (daily message counts)
- Workshop registrations and attendance records
Content You Create:
- Messages (direct and group conversations)
- Project files, documents, photos, and collaborator lists
- AI conversation history and event prep coaching sessions
Technical Data:
- Device token for push notifications (FCM token)
- Device model and OS version
How We Use Your Data
- To provide and improve app features and user experience
- To display your profile to other FBLA members (subject to your privacy settings)
- To calculate points, streaks, and leaderboard rankings
- To facilitate messaging, connections, and collaboration
- To deliver push notifications about messages, connections, and activities
- To enforce content moderation and community guidelines
- To process AI chatbot conversations and event coaching sessions
- To manage chapter memberships and join requests
- To process in-app subscription purchases
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase services (Cloud Firestore, Firebase Authentication, and Firebase Cloud Storage). Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Uploaded images are scanned by Google Cloud Vision API for content moderation purposes only. Messages are filtered by an automated profanity detection system to maintain community standards.
Third-Party Services
- Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage, cloud functions, push notifications)
- Anthropic Claude API (AI chatbot and event coaching — messages are processed to generate responses)
- RevenueCat (subscription management — processes purchase data from Apple/Google)
- Google Cloud Vision API (image moderation only)
AI Features & Data
The App includes AI-powered features powered by Anthropic's Claude API. Messages sent to the AI are transmitted to Anthropic's servers to generate responses. AI conversations are stored in your account for continuity and can be deleted at any time. Your messages are NOT used to train AI models. AI usage is subject to daily message limits (5/day free, 100/day Pro).
Push Notifications
We use Firebase Cloud Messaging to send push notifications. You can control which notifications you receive in the Notification Settings. Your device token is stored securely and deleted when you sign out.
In-App Purchases
Subscriptions are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not directly collect or store your payment information.
Your Rights
- View and edit your profile information at any time
- Control profile visibility through Privacy settings
- Control which notifications you receive
- Control who can message you
- Block other users
- Delete individual AI conversations
- Delete your account and all associated data from Settings
- Request a copy of your data by contacting us
Children's Privacy
FBLA Advantage is designed for high school students (ages 14-18) and their advisors. Users under 13 years of age are not permitted to use the App.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently deleted.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
